Eyewear as an object has been represented in various forms since 13th century. It has acted as a device to correct vision and protect the eyes, or as an icon of social status and a statement of fashion, trend and culture. Artists have used eyewear to symbolize a person's soul in art work. Eyewear can dramatically change a person's appearance, emphasize facial expression, distort physical identity and intentionally manipulate impression as people judge unfamiliar circumstances behind the lenses. One the other hand, eyewear may also be an instrument for reveling truth. Eyewear is an art object, which creates endless possibilities for viewer and wearer alike.
